In the three key areas: Prevention – Prosecution – Protection, India is showing great leaps forward.
The 2023 U.S. Department of State Trafficking in persons report highlights India’s strong advancement in education to prevent victims falling into trafficking, prosecuting criminals, and supporting victims under the leadership of Arun Sobti, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs Women’s Safety Division.
As such, India will be invited to nominate a representative to the IASC World Council for 2024, to speak on “Empowering Women to End Slavery and Human Trafficking”. We congratulate the Government of India, and the Ministry of Home Affairs, Women’s Division in taking such strong steps to join the international community in fighting these ever-growing crimes.
